This journal is not for bashers. If you don't accept my love for anime, all things cuddly or tennis slash, please refrain yourself from posting - this is meant to be a friendly place and not a place to nurture silly internet feuds. I won't judge you based on what you like or don't like, and I merely ask you to be polite and do the same. I won't tolerate, however, deliberate harshness, excessive cursing and close-mindedness. Let's keep it civil! :)

EDIT: This journal is now partially FRIENDS-ONLY. All the entries that contain the "real life" tag will have limited access (unless I deem otherwise).

OK. I just decided that I really love Erasmus, it's the best thing ever created on Earth. I actually just contacted my coordinator and asked her if I can stay longer here in Germany... :) *taking care of the paperwork right now*
I've never had so much free time in my life before. I have two classes every week, one of them is Book Illustration, and the other one is The History of Comic Books (and this last one is by far the best subject I've ever had, ever ever). They're both incredibly interesting and the classes are fun, the teachers are really decent, our classmates are surprisingly very nice, and besides a couple of projects I don't have anything else to do.
I do have another subject (Video and Foto), but I don't have any classes, we'll have a one-week trip next January to the Baltic sea and we'll work there (take photos, attend some workshops, and so on).
Being an Erasmus students has some other advantages too; we get the opportunity to go on some really cheap trips, so I'm slowly getting to know Germany. I've also been to Prague, and the city is a dream. *swoons*
I really like Germany. It's unlike most people have told me: no, people are most definitely not unfriendly; so far everything but the train/public transportation is far cheaper, and my scholarship is still strong and surviving; everything's really organized here; the weather has been mostly bearable so far. My only complaint is the food, but that can't be helped. ^^ Oh, and Leipzig is beautiful, I'm loving the city and I discover something new everyday (oh, the wonders of moving from a very small town to a very urban city).
My german has been steadily improving everyday, so I'm excited about that as well. My spanish is slowly improving as well, I have found so many spanish students here - it's crazy!
This has been like a fairytale to me and I can only recommend this overwhelming experience. Best months of my life, so far. :)
I'm sorry I haven't been updating at all, but I'll try to start dropping comments in all your journals again! I've been in a sort of livejournal hiatus since I moved here, but things are calming down and I'm getting used to everything, so you'll be able to hear more from me soon.

1. I can't stand the sight, taste and smell of cheese.
2. I am obsessed with pretty much everything that has the color green, I love lime-green especially.
3. I can't cook to save my life, so at home I am the one that takes care of the "boring" chores - peel the vegetables, set the table, wash the dishes, etc.
4. I have suffered from trichotillomania for most of my life.
5. My favorite type of panties are boyshorts. Pretty much everything else annoys me to no end, and I just think boyshorts look cute and are more comfortable.
6. I'm terrified of scorpions.
7. I can't swim, and I had swimming classes when I was younger!

This gets posted everywhere, but I still want to take it, ahah.
Comment and I will comment back with a picture/description of the fictional character that most reminds me of you. Then post the same in your journal!
(
amai_amaya gave me Katara from Avatar! Oh, and
suikka just gave me Yui from K-On!)
I just got back from my mini-mini holidays. I got some giant (awful) tan-lines and many sunburns along the way, ahah. It was fun though. I must have gotten 10 pounds bigger *at least*, I ate waaay to much.
- I'll check out your journals later, probably tomorrow! I am sorry I was absent for so long! :)
Apparently my landlord found a potentially deadly carbon monoxide leak in my college apartment. We have no idea for how long this has been going on. I'm going there next week to go to the beach (unlike most people, I find September to be my ideal beach time - it's still hot, but a lot less crowded), so I hope they fix it as soon as possible.
I've been feeling really crappy this past few days. I've been feeling really apathetic and nothing seems to interest me much. My grandmother's Serra da Estrela dog (a portuguese breed) died three days ago of old age and he was the sweetest thing ever. My parents fought again last night (I never mentioned this because I try not to talk about these issues; but the truth is that they fight over the smallest, most insignificant things, and it drives me crazy) and I'm wondering if they'd be better off if they got divorced. I gave up on reading Thomas Mann's The Magic Mountain and I'm almost finishing The Angel's Game by Carlos Ruiz Zafón, I'll probably pick up again The Magic Mountain later on, though. It's not a bad book, the writing just requires a lot of attention. I've been following the new season of Project Runway and it's just as good as it gets. I've been playing Pokémon Emerald. And that's all I've been doing. *yawn*
/meh, sorry for the emo post.
I once read a very interesting article that explored this issue and the siblings rivalry and relationships. It said that the oldest siblings were more science-oriented, more logical, slightly more inteligent and competent, and less spoiled; the younger siblings are usually the artists, the carefree ones, more attached to their families, and the spoiled kids. I honestly find this to be very accurate!
I could be upset about them now showing Bill's getting bitten by Greyback, the fact that they took out Merope's memory, among many other things, but what surprised and annoyed me the most was the fact that they didn't explain the Half-Blood Prince bit, to me that was one of the biggest mysteries in HBP. And no, WB, having Snape saying "I am the Half-Blood prince" is super-corny and idiot when you didn't explain Snape's back story or the investigation conducted by the trio. ggggggggggg
But it's not like I hated the movie, it's actually really cool and the CG was neat.
Hai Rafa fans!
If you've got TVE1, run to your TV sets, because they're broadcasting a seemingly loooong new interview and he's looking SO FINE.
(1.He's talking about politics now, rofl)
(2.seeing him fangirling over Cristiano Ronaldo is kinda cute)
Oh.My.God. they're showing some Rafa porn now. gggggggggg
I JUST DIED THEY SPOKE ABOUT RAFA TEXTIN
*dies*
Sometimes I get in a very nostalgic mood, and so I decided to look for my 10 year-old purple Gameboy Color. It still works (amazing: nowadays I buy a cellphone and it gets screwed up not 12 months later; I buy a mp3 player and it only lasts for a couple of years... nothing like the good old times when gadgets had a lifespan longer than a mouse's), and most of the games function properly AND OMG I can play Ocarina of Time and amazingly all the save states are there, untouched.
Anyway, I've been playing Pokémon Red over the past few days, and I don't know if I'm already too old for this, or if my memory is really good, but I finished the game in a little under 20 hours, without any major issues. I would never figure it would take me getting into my twenties to become such a good Pokémon trainer, because I caught Articuno, Zapdos, Moltress, Mewtwo and all the other rare Generation I pokémon you can imagine really easily. Also, I had forgotten how addicting the Pokémon games can be, and I'm already getting my NDS emulator and roms ready looking forward to play the newest generation games. \o/
Who here is also a big Pokémon nerd? *scratches head embarrassingly*

| OFF COURT - ROGER PROUD FATHER OF TWIN GIRLS 5 Time Grand Slam Champion and #1 Ranked Player In The World, Roger Federer Becomes Proud Father Of Twin Girls Roger Federer and his wife Mirka, proudly announce the birth of twin daughters, Charlene Riva and Myla Rose, who were born Thursday night, July 23rd in Switzerland. "This is the greatest day of our lives. Mirka, Myla and Charlene are all healthy and doing very well. |
Congratulations Roger and Mirka! :D :D :D I am so excited for them! ^^ I also love the names they picked!
I actually remember saying more than once that they should have twins, so I'm glad they did. :)
I was feeling dorky/intrigued by those baby names, so I googled them, and I came up with this:
Charlene *apparently* means 'free' and Riva is 'Maiden', so baby#1 = Free maiden.
Myla is 'merciful', so baby#2 = Merciful rose. LOL.
I bet they're too friggin beautiful, too.
(That stupid site doesn't recognize my second name but I'm sure it's something just as corny. xD)

I can't wait! (Even if the original Alice in Wonderland story scared the crap out of me when I was a lot younger... Especially the Cheshire Cat, how creepy was he? :S)
Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter are too awesome, seriously. ♥
EDIT: Apparently, the video keeps getting deleted, so I'll be replacing the video whenever necessary. ;_;
By the way I don't know if any of you read it, but The Shadow of the Wind reminded me a lot of José Saramago's All the Names, for some unknown reason. The stories are so different but I felt that the concept was somehow similar, and both books were very suspenseful.
I'll be reading The Angel's Game next, which appears to be a prequel. I already bought it. *is excited*

Congrats, Roger, you champ! HJYTREFDBNJYRT I'M SO HAPPY! *_____________*
I still can't quite believe it.
*hugs Roddick* How cute is he, by the way? Is it too bad that I wanted them both to win...?
EDIT: Aww. Andy's apologizing to Pete Sampras!!! Too friggin adorable!
It seems we're getting a Federer/Roddick final... Wtf I was expecting Roger to play against Murray but it's better this way. A LOT better.
Won't be as exciting as a Fedal final, but oh well, at least we have one of our two guys there to root for. \o/
And it's friggin Wimbledon. I'm still excited nonetheless.
Good luck Roger, I'll be crossing my fingers and hoping for the best!

fedal_fangirl's delicious semi-final picspam!)
Also, I just realized that "orz" doesn't stand for anything at all and is just an emoticon of a man pounding his head on the floor. =| I spent hours trying to figure out what it meant. (Yes, I'm too lazy for google.)

The first anime episode, that is...
I liked it. But it felt too rushed. I mean, they compiled an entire afternoon (or so) of playing into twenty minutes. And this is a Visual Novel adaptation, so that's saying a lot. But I still think that 5 episodes is just right for the first Episode/arc, if they manage the time wisely. Also, I'm glad that they kept a couple of tracks from the VN background music, because it is just too good.
Not as epic as I'd like but, then again, the epicness starts right on the next episode. (and they better keep 犯行の予告状読み上げ (ラック眼力), since that's one of my favorite tracks!)
My biggest complaint (besides the fact that they cut a lot on important scenes!), is the huge amount of spoilers they included right in the opening animation, and even the scene when they showed Beato carrying that umbrella. Wtf?
Also, anime Kanon is a real hottie. He was my favorite character in the Visual Novel, and he looks too yummy in the adaptation. Who doesn't love a shy, melancholic butler?
(He looks a little bit like Lelouch, though. ^^')
And I'll also leave you guys the opening and ending animations, because they're so epic.
Opening (Akika Shikata - One Winged Bird) and Ending (Jimangu - La Divina Tragedia) - starts at 1:30:
But that's not the whole story, not at all. This couple is ALWAYS fighting. Always. It's not that the walls between our houses are made of paper, but you can still listen to it when you're in the kitchen. Also, I suspect there's a) a very ugly case of child neglect (the girl screams and cries A LOT whenever the parents are fighting, which means that they must fight in front of the little kid); and b) domestic abuse. The man hits the wife. Pretty badly, according to the sounds. You can hear the slaps quite clearly. I wouldn't be surprised if there was something fishy going on there. But, then again, they already manifested their strong dislike of "improper neighbors", so it's not like we're doing anything about it anytime soon. *shrugs*
And now the worst part, and the one that also affects my house directly. The stench. IT'S DEADLY. Their house smells like garbage and pot, it's a really intense trashy smell. When my mother went there - and she didn't get past the doorway - she said that the foul odor was unbearable and she had to control her gag reflex. And you can smell it, really. We live in an apartment, their door is literally a couple meters or so away from ours, and whenever I go outside, I have to hold my breath because it stinks too damn bad. Aaaalso, according to my father, there's also a lingering Marijuana smell, and probably the rotten smell of other drugs. Ugh.
Also, I don't know why, but I spent the afternoon listening to Michael Jackson songs, reading articles on him and watching his interviews. I just got really nostalgic, and even though I wasn't really a fan of his, he has got some really great tunes and he had the most interesting personality. Though, I feel like I (not unlike most people) had a slightly misguided image of him. I mean, the pedophilia claims always irked me but after all it seems I was just badly informed, and he was clear of all accusations (such as the boy admitting himself he lied about the whole for financial reasons). Also, the "skin bleaching rumors", it seems that after all it all started due to a pretty serious and fairly unknown skin disease. I think he was a very sweet guy, not without his issues, but he was mostly misunderstood all his life and lead a very tough life.

If they don't screw this up, it has the potential to become a true classic, one of the best animes out there in my humble opinion. The story is damn good, intricate, mysterious and addicting (not to say incredibly creepy); the characters are really likeable, and the animation looks great. And OMFG they'll be using the original game OST. *_____________*
Also, I just called my grandmother, she is already in the hospital and her surgery should happen in a few hours... I am really scared but just as hopeful!

My most favorite cartoon character turns 75 today!
And he's still looking fabulous! :D
Happy Birthday Donald!
To celebrate that, and to celebrate one of my OTPs, I am posting a giant batch of 80 icons(!!!), consisting of Kyon, Itsuki Koizumi and Itsukyon (the two of them together). This is also a welcome gift for the
This is, among all my fictional OTPs, the most canon one (I think). Itsuki (who is gayer than a rainbow) is clearly in lust with Kyon, touching him frequently, etc. The people behind the anime have been clearly hinting at something. Which is great, in my opinion, since Haruhi Suzumiya is an anime with tons of guy-oriented fanservice, yet they also excel in the art of giving yaoi fangirls some subtle clues (and some not-so-subtle ones - yes, Haruhi-chan, I am looking at you). My inner fangirl really appreciates that.

Si hay alguien en my lista de amigos (¡me recuerdo que he añadido por lo menos una o dos personas que hablaban el español!), me encantaria muchísimo encontrar un penpal que me escribiera con regularidad, si es posible. Muchas gracias. :D
****
Sorry for this post, but I decided that I *really* need to improve my Spanish skills (among my english, german and french skills, too ;_;). I can express myself in Spanish through spoken words fairly well, but I can't write to save my life; and that leaves me, frankly, quite sad. I feel like finding an online penpal right now. If you are learning Spanish, are fluent in Spanish, or have Spanish as your mother tongue, please say something! I don't need an expert, I just need someone with whom I can exchange some e-mails about random stuff. :)
And now I'm off to study some German since I have an exam thisnext Monday and I can't believe that at this point I still have doubts when it comes to using datives, nominatives and accusatives. *is ded* Maybe I should look for a German pal next time. :3
